School IP address Attention:

This IP address, 130.101.152.83, is registered to the University of Akron and may be shared by multiple users of an educational institution. If the institution uses proxy servers, this IP address may in fact represent many users at many physical computers.

For this reason a message intended for one person may be received by another. Similarly an innocent user may be blocked for another user's vandalism. If you are editing from this address and are frustrated by irrelevant messages, you can avoid them by creating an account for yourself. In some cases you may temporarily be unable to create an account due to efforts to fight vandalism; if so, please read our advice on this situation.

Caution should be used when blocking this IP or reverting its contributions without checking - if a block is needed, administrators should consider a soft block with the template {{schoolblock|optional comment}} as the block reason.

Note: In the event of persistent vandalism from this IP address, anonymous editing may be disabled for up to 1 year at a time. Abuse reports may also be forwarded to your school administration for investigation.
School staff who want to monitor vandalism from this IP address can subscribe to a web feed of this page in either RSS or Atom format.

[edit] Block evidence

I'm asking JzG for the evidence supporting this indef block. For log, see [1]. It is also a shared IP. Also asking who he thinks this is. RlevseTalk 02:07, 9 March 2008 (UTC)

  • It was not indefinite. Guy (Help!) 12:15, 9 March 2008 (UTC)
    • My error on that, sorry. RlevseTalk 20:06, 9 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Unblock request

{{unblock|Insufficient evidence, block excesssive.}}

|Same user, different IP (probably) I use public computer terminals, and the IP changes every time you log in. I see no evidence of tendentious editing on EVP; I made almost no edits to the page. I also challenge JzG to say who he thinks I am.}}130.101.152.24 (talk) 19:52, 9 March 2008 (UTC)

A note- the University of Akron IPs are in the 130.101 range. I made a handful of edits to EVP; most were on the talk. The 130.101 IPs are me. 130.101.152.24 (talk) 19:53, 9 March 2008 (UTC)

Your request to be unblocked has been granted for the following reason(s):

Evidence given for block lacking, and even if reasons given are true, no warnings were given and block is excessive.

I got an email that said JzG think I'm Tom Butler. I didn't know who that was, Google tells me he's director of AA-EVP. AA-EVP's contact page has a PO BOX in Reno, NV. I'm in Akron, Ohio, as the IPs suggest. 130.101.152.24 (talk) 20:04, 9 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Apologies for any disruption

Same user, probably another IP. I apologize if I did anything disruptive here; most of my edits were on Talk:Electronic voice phenomenon where I was simply suggesting how we might get it neutral enough to avoid future edit warring. I failed. I wasn't IP hopping on purpose. I sat down at a computer when I had the time. To try and give consistency I only edited from campus to keep the IPs in the same range. I don't know how AE works; I knew there was a case with SA involved, and I posted thinking it might be a concern. I said that at the beginning. My rant to Jeh was justified and I don't make any apologies for that. I did not, however, mean to evade a ban when I left that rant; I didn't know this IP was blocked at the time. Obviously, I can't keep track of all of the IPs in the UA range. I'm not going to edit any more, however. I wanted to avoid the mess of these paranormal articles and I got dragged in anyway. Hopefully the edit warring will stop; I doubt it will. 130.101.152.108 (talk) 20:26, 9 March 2008 (UTC)

Ignorance of the rules only works once...so be much more careful in the future, 130.xyz...read the policies and guidelines. Dreadstar 20:33, 9 March 2008 (UTC)
