1. deild karla (E. Men's First Division) is a football (soccer) league in Iceland. It is the second division from the top in the Icelandic football division system. The league was founded in 1955 and current champions are Fram.
The league has been expanded to 12 teams for the 2007 season, after having only 10 teams for many years. In 2008, the premier league, Landsbankadeild, will also expand to 12 teams, thus three teams will be promoted in the 2007 season.
