Please stop. If you continue to vandalize pages, as you did to OSI model, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. A link to the edit I have reverted can be found here: link. If you believe this edit should not have been reverted, please contact me. Beno1000 17:23, 26 May 2006 (UTC)

You have been temporarily blocked from editing for vandalism of Wikipedia. Please note that page blanking, addition of random text or spam, deliberate misinformation, privacy violations, and repeated and blatant violation of WP:NPOV are considered vandalism. If you wish to make useful contributions, you may come back after the block expires. Petros471 18:03, 26 May 2006 (UTC)

Well done, you've just blocked thousands of researchers, many world-famous, at the IBM Thomas J. Watson Research Center.

According to your vandalism policy, "Any good-faith effort to improve the encyclopedia, even if misguided or ill-considered, is not vandalism. Apparent bad-faith edits that do not make their bad-faith nature inarguably explicit are not considered vandalism at Wikipedia." In fact, the edits you reverted were simply a good-faith attempt to enhance your list of mnemonics for the OSI model with two new mnemonics. When they were removed, I concluded that one ("All People Should Try New Deodorant Products") might be considered in poor taste, but I restored the other ("Alvin Persuaded Simon and Theodore to Neuter Dave's Poodle"), and added references and links to make clear that this is a reference to a well-known piece of 1960s American culture--a T.V. show called "The Chipmunks". (Perhaps you are too young to be aware of it.) In any event, this is a legitimate mnemonic: People (of a certain age) really do find it useful for remembering the 7 OSI layers, perhaps because it has an element of humor to it.

So let's be reasonable. You are free to disagree about whether the Chipmunks mnemonic is a useful contribution, but for goodness sake remove the block on hundreds of the world's top computing experts!

Very well, what you say does make sense. I blocked in response to a report on WP:AIV, and at first glance it looked like 'silly vandalism', sorry for not looking closer. Happy editing :) Petros471 19:01, 26 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Your edits to October 8

Please do not add yourself or anyone else without a Wikipedia article to the Wikicalendar pages. To have an article, a person must meet the criteria outlined in WP:BIO. Thank you. Fabricationary 20:41, 22 August 2006 (UTC)

I have reverted a recent edit you made to the article Guangzhou. You did not provide an edit summary, and I could not determine whether the edit was vandalism or a constructive contribution. In the future, please use edit summaries. A link to the edit I have reverted can be found here: link. If you believe this edit should not have been reverted, please contact me. [edit] Metz

Hi, the additions were unfortunate: heir of Clovis I linked to Thierry I and not Theuderic I; it was he let build the palace, not Brunhilda; the palace does not exist any more; Metz is capital only since 566 (I know the French WP tells a somewhat different story) and some other misleading statements. I could not fix it in a meaningful way, and since the previous version hits the point well, I changed it back :-[] --Danh 17:29, 20 July 2007 (UTC)
