[edit] Unblocked after investigation
The 129.21.* IP kind of jumped out at me when I saw in the unblock requests list for some reason. :) I figured I'd investigate this a little further; I think there's been a bit of a misunderstanding here.
I checked the Tor cached-routers file, and he's correct - the Tor node "dinomite" at 129.21.60.122:9001 has its exit policy set to reject outgoing connections to 66.230.200.100 (rr.pmtpa.wikimedia.org, the virtual host for all WMF wikis) and 66.230.200.219 (secure.wikimedia.org), which should prevent all Tor traffic from editing WP. I've re-blocked soft, so that he can edit from his machine while logged in (while still keeping it blocked to some degree to prevent confusing the intermittently-run Tor blocking bots). --krimpet✽ 19:55, 18 December 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for the help; a soft block seems the perfect solution --dinomite (talk) 20:21, 18 December 2007 (UTC)
