[edit] Cheerleading Edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to make constructive contributions to Wikipedia, at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to Cheerleading, did not appear to be constructive and has been reverted or removed. Please use the sandbox for any test edits you would like to make, and take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. While I personally agree with your perspective, Cheerleading as a whole fits Wikipedia's definition of a sport.

(From other user talk)My edit of cheerleading cleared up the fact that while casual cheerleading is not a sport, competitive cheerleading is. I supported this with a couple of reputable references. Maybe a section could be added to the article clearing up this misconception. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 129.2.130.88 (talk) 02:33, 16 December 2007 (UTC)
Don't take the 'vandalism' thing too personally. The whole cheerleading sport/non-sport debate has quickly become one of my pet peeves and unfortunately have had a short fuse. According to Wikipedia's definition of sport, there usually is competition, but it isn't necessary, so for consistency Cheerleading should be considered a sport here. I have thought about setting up a section that talks about the debate. Maybe you could develop it.Thinkbui (talk) 07:39, 16 December 2007 (UTC)
