- March 30 - Edward I storms Berwick-upon-Tweed, sacking the then Scottish border town with much bloodshed. He slaughters most residents, including those who flee to the churches.
- April 27 - Battle of Dunbar: The Scots are defeated by Edward I of England.
- October 3 - Alauddin Khilji proclaims himself ruler of the Delhi Sultanate, as a member of the Khilji dynasty.
