[edit] Dimmu Borgir translations

Here are a few, the only ones I could translate at short notice through Dimmu Borgirs own website, which contains the lyrics of the songs from For All Tid.

Det Nye Riket - The New Empire

Our hate will win

our evil shall grow

to fasten in young souls

the last war, we shall win

the blood of the good shall fall like rain

their short souls will gather

We will rule over chaos and eternal night.

We will forget the female -don't know adjective- mothers

and eradicate everything

An empire shall rise

in the ash of burned homes

and there is only one master emperor,

we hail you Satan, king of the strong

your time has come.

Over Bleknende Blåner Til Dommedag - Over faint mountains to judgement day (bleknende blåner = fading 'blues' of distant mountains)

After long (time), the blaze of storm

the tide's waves strike

ocean strikes on a treasure

Soon to have all lakes (lit. lakes in forests) frozen to ice

and the snow covers a mountain peak

Stripel's warrior, confident he was who put

his courage in old time

walks to (lit. Deadisland) valley after his bane

great battle

Blows the country of fading 'blues'

abandoned and dark earth

and good for fathers who have been victorious

the Norwegian sea's fjord of dusk

The voyage through the (dim of dusk, very grey) is grey

to me it is a husk of ancestor's life

windy, faint, bluing mountains

in a (lit. grey-turned) night

I travel over the faint mountains

and here in the dark I am abandoned

Soon the snow has (lit. heavied) every settlement

soon King Winter has defeated earth

here where once the old fell in the ground

(non-literal translation: to lay the island desolate)

and clean it

Over the mountains of fading blues

I go in the (lit. darkk darklord's) words

over counties where (fore)fathers' fighting has prevailed

where vikingswords left clear trace

For All Tid - For all time (forever)

Every tear is frozen

our soul is chained, our hate is bloody

all joy no more, all laughter disappeared

all life shall end in death

In a cold and empty landscape

the black hoard shall step forward

our master shall rise up for all time

raise his empire again

Our fight shall be rewarded

our names shall be praised,

our minds shall draw (can't interprete)

and his love forefer to be lost

all moral shall be (tossed aside like a rejection)

you will, but you die of shame (I can't translate the clear meaning of this)

Now the time has come

yes, break the word of the good

must we for all time be/remain emperors on this earth.
