Until you can establish the notability of that Ahmadiyya organization, please refrain from inserting it into the article. Thank you. BhaiSaab talk 01:59, 17 October 2006 (UTC)

muslims.org is not a Qadiani website

This is from their site:

"We have learnt that some visitors to this website have mistakenly thought that this is a Qadiani website. 'Qadiani' means the movement headed by Mirza Tahir Ahmad which believes Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad to be a prophet and declares that all Muslims who don't believe in him are non-Muslims. (The Qadianis use the title "Ahmadiyya Movement in Islam".)

This website represents the beliefs of the Lahore Ahmadiyya Movement or Ahmadiyya Anjuman Isha‘at Islam Lahore. We believe that no prophet can come after the Holy Prophet Muhammad, neither new nor old, and that this was also the strongly-held belief of Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad who always denied the allegation that he claimed to be a prophet. We have a section devoted to refuting the wrong Qadiani beliefs, showing them to be against the beliefs of Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad. For information about our Movement, please go to our Ahmadiyya Movement area.

On the one hand, we receive critical and abusive e-mail from visitors who mistake this website for a Qadiani website. On the other hand, some of our visitors who have been impressed by our presentation of Ahmadiyya teachings have by mistake got in touch with the Qadiani movement for further information. We have been told that the Qadiani mission officials have even attempted to admit such persons into their movement while knowing that they did not hold Qadiani beliefs.

This is why we have had to issue this strong clarification that this is not a Qadiani website."

I never accused it of being qadiani - what I'm asking is that you establish its importance or notability. At the moment, it doesn't seem particularly notable. BhaiSaab talk 03:00, 17 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Baha'i divisions

Please read WP:NPOV#Undue_weight, "views that are held by a tiny minority should not be represented except in articles devoted to those views." -- Jeff3000 19:09, 18 November 2006 (UTC)

And the same applies to links in the external links section. See undue weight in External links. -- Jeff3000 19:15, 18 November 2006 (UTC)
Just to clarify the releveant points again, from WP:NPOV#Undue_weight which is Wikipedia policy:
  • "views that are held by a tiny minority should not be represented except in articles devoted to those views"
  • "If a viewpoint is held by an extremely small (or vastly limited) minority, it does not belong in Wikipedia (except perhaps in some ancillary article) regardless of whether it is true or not; and regardless of whether you can prove it or not."
  • "This applies not only to article text, but to images, external links, categories, and all other material as well."
The ancillary article exists, Bahá'í divisions, and that is the place for verifiable information that has been published in a reliable source regarding the smaller viewpoints. -- Jeff3000 19:24, 18 November 2006 (UTC)

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, one or more of the external links you added to the page Second Life do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. If the external link you inserted or changed was to a blog, forum, free web hosting service, or similar site, then please check the information on the external site thorougly. Note that such sites should probably not be linked to if they contain information that is in violation of the creators copyright (see Linking to copyrighted works), or they are not written by a recognised, reliable source. Linking to sites that you are involved with is also strongly discouraged (see conflict of interest).

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did in this edit to Second Life. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Thanks. -- lucasbfr talk 13:11, 17 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Re: Second Life Link

First of all, thank you for your message! My opinion is that this link does not meet the requirements for external links. because it is not directly related to the subject (it is a blog post listing some competitors), and is not written by someone with authority in the matter. If you disagree, I suggest you ask on the article talk page prior to putting the link back, I'm sure there is enough traffic there to start a discussion on the merits of including the link. Cheers! -- lucasbfr talk 13:41, 17 February 2008 (UTC)
