Attention:

This IP address, 12.18.80.40, is registered to Wachovia, and may be shared by multiple users. If the organization uses proxy servers or firewalls, this IP address may in fact represent many users at many physical computers.

For this reason, a message intended for one person may be received by another and a block may be shared by many. If you are editing from this address and are frustrated by irrelevant messages, you can avoid them by creating an account for yourself. In some cases, you may temporarily be unable to create an account due to efforts to fight vandalism; if so, please see here.

If you are autoblocked repeatedly, we encourage you to contact your Internet service provider or IT department and ask them to contact Wikimedia's XFF project about enabling X-Forwarded-For HTTP headers on their proxy servers so that our editing blocks will affect only the intended user. Alternatively, you can list the IP at Wikipedia:WikiProject on XFFs.

Caution should be used when blocking this IP or reverting its contributions without checking - if a block is needed, administrators should consider using a soft block with the template {{anonblock|optional comment}} as the block reason.

Note: In the event of vandalism from this address, abuse reports may be sent to your network administrator for further investigation.

You have recently vandalized a Wikipedia article, and you are now being asked to stop this type of behavior. You're welcome to continue editing Wikipedia, so long as these edits are constructive. Please see Wikipedia's Blocking policy and what constitutes vandalism; such actions are not tolerated on Wikipedia, and are not taken lightly.

We hope that you will become a legitimate editor. Again, you are welcome here at Wikipedia, but remember not to vandalize or you will soon be blocked from editing.

If you feel you have received this message in error, it may be because you are using a shared IP address. Nevertheless, repeated vandalism from this address may cause you to be included in any future sanctions such as temporary blocks or bans. To avoid confusion in the future, we invite you to create a user account of your own. This message is regarding the page Ben Adams. On numerous occasions I, and other users have reverted edits you made adding infomation at the bottom of the page about the American Ben Adams. I presume this may well be you... but please do not place this at the bottom of the article about the pop star. If the US Ben Adams is of encyclopedic interest then he should be placed in a SEPERATE article to the pop star. Thank you! Richardbates2002

[edit] Michael Moore vandalism

Yes I know, he is a hypocrite, however, this is an encyclopedia, and we must keep it to relevant encyclopedia type facts. This isn't the place for opinions. If so, the George W. Bush page would not exist. Thanks. --Master Jay 21:49, 8 December 2005 (UTC)

Well, it is mean stuff that gets people blocked (usually for a few hours or so). You are free to edit any page that you believe needs editing, however, you must maintain a neutral point of view. Sometimes editing wars may erupt when people have different opinions on matters - so I would avoid anything about religion or politics, unless it is fact. A different approach to the Michael Moore article, rather than saying that he is a "hypocrite" in the first line, would be to state in an appropriate paragraph somewhere that he invests in Haliburton, add a citation, and at the bottom, list where the source is from. Then the reader can come to the conclusion of him being a hypocrite. But remember, all edits are welcome, as long as it is not derrogatory, offensive, nonsense (like adding "penis" to random artciles) and is neutral and factual, with a reliable source. I know - it is plenty. But you can always start with writing articles about things from your home town or even your high school or college. --Master Jay 22:07, 8 December 2005 (UTC)
No problem. You may want to consider creating a user name/page (just click on sign in and go through the creation process) for a better identity at Wikipedia. If you haven't noticed, IP addresses get bad reception. Reply after you've created your name - also, sign your name by clicking on the button second from the right in the editing page.

[edit] Tool (band)

I reverted your recent edits to Tool (band) because it read just like a marketing brochure. --Yamla 22:14, 3 May 2006 (UTC)

Your latest addition has been removed in part because of the same reason. Please refrain from using Wikipedia as advertising space. Thank you. --Johnnyw 22:51, 3 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] please do not add advertisement to (Tool (band))

Statements like "this book documents what could be considered the greatest culmination of artist in mordern times" are not neutral in any sense. Please stop adding any of these statements to the Tool (band)-article, as repeatedly adding phrases like this regarding the book by Alex Grey despite pleas and due warning by fellow editors could be considered deliberate acts of vandalism, since Wikipedia is not the place for advertisement. Please consider adding your contribution to the article about Alex Grey instead, rewriting it without bias. Thank you. --Johnnyw 15:47, 4 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Your edit to Freesia Wong

Your recent edit to Freesia Wong (diff) was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to recognize and repair vandalism to Wikipedia articles. If the bot reverted a legitimate edit, please accept my humble creator's apologies – if you bring it to the attention of the bot's owner, we may be able to improve its behavior. [edit] Your edits to Joko Beck

When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labeled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:

Edit summary text box

The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.

Filling in the edit summary field greatly helps your fellow contributors in understanding what you changed, so please always fill in the edit summary field, especially for big edits or when you are making subtle but important changes, like changing dates or numbers. Thank you.

In addition, as there seems to be a dispute about what should or should not be included in this article, you should explain on the Joko Beck talk page the reasons behind your edits. This will help avoid misunderstandings and edit wars. Thank you. --MichaelMaggs 11:13, 22 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] April 2007

This is your last warning. The next time you delete or blank page contents or templates from Wikipedia, as you did to Great Smoky Mountains, you will be blocked from editing.

This applies to your other deletions today as well. --A. B. (talk) 18:26, 4 April 2007 (UTC)

You have been blocked from editing Wikipedia for a period of 3 hours as a result of your disruptive edits. You are free to make constructive edits after the block has expired, but please note that vandalism (including page blanking or addition of random text), spam, deliberate misinformation, privacy violations, personal attacks; and repeated, blatant violations of our neutral point of view policy will not be tolerated. - Alison
