Hi, my name is Andy. I was born in Madrid, Spain, in 1990, and have lived in Spain and in America (U.S.A.) since then.

[edit] Bio
I was born to missionary parents in Spain. I lived in Madrid, Salamanca, and Casas de Monleón, a town in Salamanca province, until I moved to the States when I was 6. We were there until I was 9, when we moved back to Casas de Monleón in Spain. While in the U.S., I learned English (my mother tongue is Spanish, although I have become proficient to a greater extent in English) and embarked on what is now a somewhat proficient "polyglot-ness"; since then I have relearned Spanish, taken Latin, learned French, am taking Arabic, and plan to soon start German, along the way becoming well acquainted with Portuguese, Galician, Asturian (bable), Aragonese, Catalan, Occitan (Provençal) and other related languages. After we moved back to Spain and had lived there until I was 15 (in 2006), we moved back to the States to Durham, NC, and that is where we presently are. I have been homeschooled K-11 (I'm a senior) and am taking college classes at Durham Technical Community College.

If you happen to not like scrolling down .34 miles to see someone's interests in userboxes, I'll explain them here. Obviously I love linguistics, although I'm not sure that's where I want my career. I'm crazy about math (derivatives and integrals **r0x0r**), have had a long lasting passion for watching plants grow and want to grow a bonsai someday. I generally like nature and am an ama-ama-amateur bird watcher (I'm lost with American species but can identify Spanish ones fairly well). I like and can create several forms of art. I play guitar and am dying to learn the piano; I'm a photographer and am going to get published late in 2007 in an amateur photographer anthology called Endless Journeys (If you ever find the book, mine's the picture Patient Lizard). I also like stereograms and have created a couple myself [1]. I like books too; right now, I'm trying to read as many classics as I can find time for and as many encyclopedia articles as I can fit in my head. I'd like to learn how to program seeing how even a basic knowledge of that could have helped me tremendously in setting up this page. (aside: If anyone can tell me how to send other Wikiusers comments and how to create userboxes, I'd greatly appreciate it!)
[edit] Beliefs
Although my beliefs aren't very well shown in the userboxes to the right; the reason's that I could hardly find any that reflected my beliefs well. I believe that there is a God, that He and His Word, the Bible, are perfect and infallible. I believe that He is a Trinity, with God the Father, God the Son (Jesus), and God the Holy Spirit existing as one Supreme Being. I also believe that every human, above a certain age at which one's conscience begins to be molded, is sinful and cannot help but sin; if anyone remains incredulous of this, he should, by his own will power, see how long he can abstain from planning or doing everything that his conscience might deem wrong or that is expressly forbidden in God's Word. Consequently, everyone is going to end up in Hell (it does exist) because no one can measure up to God's perfect standard. However, I know that there is a way out, and I have taken it; to escape from God's wrath and an eternity in Hell, one must ask God to do it for him. However, this can only be done by recognizing that one is sinful (not too hard if he has attempted the above abstination from sin exercise), and giving God "consent" to put the punishment of his sins upon Jesus Christ, the incarnate second person of the Deity, to let the death that He died 2,000 years ago count for him personally. Most might say that it is not proper for God, who is Love, to send people to Hell; although it is in fact Him who sends souls there, it is the fault of those souls for refusing to recognize their own wretchedness and failing to plead to God to help them out of their hopeless situation.
Apart from this literally life-and-death issue, I believe in a literal six day creation and a world-wide flood. Nothing in nature directly contradicts these two views, merely "scientific" theories based upon the extreme extrapolation of data do. Further, a God who is all-powerful can do anything; any "evidence" for evolution could simply have been put there by some whim of God's about 6,000 years ago. Skeptics argue that this idea of creating evidence is unprovable, which it scientifically is; however, the fact that something is unprovable absolutely does NOT discredit it or move it out of the realm of the discussable. Also, science can only attempt to define, research, and experiment with what can or does happen or exist in the present; the past, no matter the subject-matter, is in the realm of history and will forever remain out of the realm of provable science. Consequently, those who deem ideas about God as "unprovable" should well note that their own ideas, if they in fact be, of evolution are also "unprovable." In addition to the philosophy there are observations taken from the present that support creation and a flood (see [2]) and make evolution doubtful. An example is that the highest point of the Grand Canyon is higher than the point at which the Colorado river enters it. In other words, the river would have to have been flowing uphill for millions of years before it would have eroded enough to have begun flowing downhill in its natural direction towards the ocean, impossible. However, a plateau shaped like this would have formed an immense sea behind it upon the occurrence of a world-wide deluge, an ideal situation for the quick erosion of bedrock once the water rose high enough to gush over the top of the plateau "dam."
I also believe in various dispensations, or ages, of God's dealings with mankind. This subject is complex, so I won't attempt to include details; but, overall, distinct dispensations means that God required different things from mankind at different times, between God's promises to Abraham and the death of Jesus Christ, God had mankind to join the Israelites and partake in their God-ordained sacrifices (see the Torah, the first five books of the Bible) if they wanted to be saved. And from Jesus Christ's death to the present, he has mankind individually repenting of their sin as described above.
