Žihárec (Hungarian: Zsigárd) is a village and municipality in Šaľa District, in the Nitra Region of south-west Slovakia.

In historical records the village was first mentioned in 1251.

The village lies at an elevation of 111 metres and covers an area of 17.046 km². It has a population of about 1620 people.

The village is about 76% Magyar, 24% Slovak.
