Area of compartment of today stadium was home ground for some Trnava's football crews probably from early of 1900s. Stadium was renewed in 2006. It incorporated three main parts:
- main playground
- western stage
- lighting
Total expenditures reckoned 92 millions SKK.

It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home ground of FC Spartak Trnava. The stadium holds 18,448 people. It is named after former famous footballer Anton Malatinský.
