The Ščavnica is a 56 km-long river in the northeastern Slovenia. It sources near Šentilj and flows along Slovenske gorice towards southeast. In its lower part it traverses the Gajševa Lake and the town Ljutomer and finally joins Mura in Razkrižje.
The Ščavnica is one of the most heavily polluted rivers in Slovenia.
