- This is a Vietnamese name; the family name is Đoàn, but is often simplified as Doan in English-language text. According to Vietnamese custom, this person properly should be referred to by the given name Phượng.
Đoàn Minh Phượng (b. Saigon, South Vietnam, 1956) is a noted film director from Vietnam. She is best known for her film Bride of Silence (Hạt mưa rơi bao lâu), which played at several overseas film festivals.
