Önder Turacı (born July 14, 1981 in Liège, Belgium) is a footballer, who currently plays for the Turkish Super League club Fenerbahçe S.K. at the defender position. He is 1.86 meters tall and weighs 79 kilograms. His origin from Karaman-Turkey.

He has become Fenerbahçe's vice-captain after the team captain Ümit Özat's transfer to 1. FC Köln and vice-captain Tuncay Şanlı's transfer to Middlesbrough F.C.. Alex also become Fenerbahçe's captain.

He was a Belgian U-21s and played in the 2002 UEFA European Under-21 Football Championship. He was included in the squad of Turkish senior team in series of friendlies in summer 2004, [2] and made his debut on 18 August 2004, a friendly match against Belarus.[3]

At that time the new FIFA status was came in forced since 1 January 2004, as loosen the nationality transfer of players aged under 21. A provision clause of 1 year effectiveness was also came in force that any player who already played for one nation youth side, but not the senior, can have a chance to apply for nationality transfer, regardless of their age. Any players that already allowed to play in official match in senior team, means the transfer automatically done. But in Turacı case, his transfer was uncertain, and Belgian senior team once tried to recall him in February 2006.[4]
