[edit] Olu

Olu Deniz lies at the heart of South West coast of Turkey, the area is known as "the Turquoise Coast" of Turkey - most probably due to it`s incredibly blue waters and sun drenched beaches. Olu Deniz quite literally means 'Dead Sea'.

Olu Deniz remains one of the most photographed beaches in the Mediterranean, if not the world. Its stunning secluded sand bay, at the mouth of Olu Deniz, secludes a breath taking blue lagoon. The lagoon is a national nature reserve and building is strictly prohibited. Olu Deniz is famous for its amazing shades of turquoise and aquamarine, and is a blue flag beach.

Just to clarify, the beach is sandy but the lagoon which is featured in so many photographs is not - pebbles are what gives the water such clarity, which you don't get with sand.
