The first season of Ídolos Brazil was premiered on SBT on April 5, 2006 and continued until July 27, 2006. The winner of this season was Leandro Lopes.

30 contestants competed in 3 groups of 10 and the 3 most voted contestants of each group advanced to the finals. Two contestants were chose by each judge to participate in a wildcard show, where the most voted contestant had a chance to become the tenth and last finalist.

The first final round was held on May 31, 2006. The final 10 contestants were faced with new themes every week. Based on public voiting, one finalist was eliminated each week. The most contraversal early exit was when favourite Pollyana Papel was eliminated after just one week in the finals - many had marked Papel as an early favourite to win the show.   • Vanessa Oliveira, the 4th place was the person with the most times on Bottom 3 and Bottom 2. She can be compared with Nikki McKibbin, the 3rd place from the first season of American Idol. They had the same number of times on B2/B3.
