Édson de Jesus Nobre, otherwise known as Édson (born 3 February 1980 in Benguela, Angola), is an Angolan football Striker who currently, as of May 2006, plays for FC Paços de Ferreira.His previous clubs include Anadia and Oliveira do Bairro and played two years each for those two portuguese clubs.Edson made his league debut for FC Paços de Ferreira against C.D. Nacional and played the full 90 minutes but his team lost 1-0 to the Madeira club.In 2005 Edson Nobre signed a contract until 2010 after going to the portuguese club for a free transfer.He is a member of the national team, and was called up to the 2006 World Cup.Edson participated in the 2008 Africa Cup of Nations for Angola and played the quarter final against Egypt.
