What is the most importante publisher in france?

And what does "important" mean in this context, anyway? 24.211.247.191 00:13, 12 December 2005 (UTC)

Agree - you can't say things like that without backing them up in some way. If Gallimard had the second biggest sales of any publisher in France, it would be possible to say something along those lines. I personally think that Gallimard is an important publisher but this site is not here for people to vent their personal opinions in encyclopedia articles. Lexo 16:38, 22 February 2007 (UTC)
Gallimard is one of the most important french publishing companies, in the meaning that it had and still has a great influence on French litteracy. Hard to explain better with my poor english, but anyway, I dont take it as "one of the best seller" but as "one of the main influences". My two cents, expressed with poor wording :) -- skiidoo 05:27, 19 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] The Albert Camus car crash

Was Michel Gallimard, who died with Camus in the car crash and was his publisher, in any way related to Gaston Gallimard? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.190.216.181 (talk) 16:13, 11 March 2008 (UTC)

Michel was the nephew of Gaston Gallimard. -- skiidoo (talk) 18:28, 3 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Ireland reference

Is that sentence about Ireland in the introduction really necessary? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.124.88.78 (talkcontribs)

I was wondering the same... But I don't have the required english skill to make a nicer modification else than just doom it. -- skiidoo (talk) 18:31, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
