Çaykur Rizespor is a Turkish sports club based in Rize. Çaykur Rizespor is currently playing in the Turkish Super Lig. The club was founded in 1953 in green-yellow colours and had professionalship status in 1968 as Rizespor and changed her names to blue-green. Since 1990, the team has been sponsored by the Turkish tea company Çaykur, hence the name and the image of a tea leaf on the club's logo. Rizespor's the best season was 1979-80 and she finished 5th the league. The season was Rizespor's first season in First League. Çaykur Rizepor finished 11th first half-time of 2007-2008 season and semifinalist of Fortis Turkey Cup but took one win second half-time and relegated to Bank Asya 1. League.
