Is it certain Cyrillic Ӕ is unrelated to the Latin digraph Æ? Wasn't it imported from the Latin alphabet, similar to Serbian Ј? Also, the word "unrelated" seems slightly far-fetched anyway, since Latin/Greek/Cyrillic A/Α/А and E/Ε/Е are basically identical, anyway.
