Äripäev

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Äripäev (Estonian for business day) is an Estonian business-related newspaper. Owned by Bonnier.

Äripäev has offered business news to its readers since 1989. We were the first daily to bring accustoms and skills of democratic journalism to Estonia already a few years before the independence was regained.

This year and last year, Äripäev won the most desirable journalistic prize of Estonia – the Bonnier prize of investigative journalism.

The international association of newspaper design approved Äripäev to be one among the four best-designed newspapers in the world. Our circulation has risen above 25 000, which in proportion with the number of inhabitants in Estonia makes us one of the most read business newspapers in the world.

Äripäev is prevailingly the most readable newspaper among decision-makers. For example, according to the most recent survey of Estonian polling company EMOR, 65% of Estonian decision-makers read Äripäev constantly, while the general dailies with much larger circulation have a considerably smaller number of enterprising readers: Postimees 46%, Päevaleht 50% and SL Õhtuleht 26%. This fact makes Äripäev incomparably the best advertising channel targeted towards entrepreneurs, especially since we are also the market leader in consumer-targeted advertising. By today, the small editorial has turned into a large company whose primary goal is to mediate and support the distribution of the information necessary for economic activity to Estonian entrepreneurs.

We have constantly sought for the possibilities to offer our readers various additional products. A few of them that should be mentioned here are the special issues of Äripäev – Logistics, Vision and Own Home that got high ratings from the decision-makers’ media survey carried out by TNS Emor Gallup Media. Äripäev offers the advertising space in its main paper as well as the additional products even to the most demanding client. We surprised the market with the women’s magazine Dilemma. The readers and advertising clients have also given high ratings to the interior design magazine Interior and Technotrend, which is mainly targeted to men.

Last year’s breakthrough was the creation of the new Internet environment aripaev.ee. Already in three months we managed to triple the number of visitors of the Internet site. By now, aripaev.ee is an attractive advertising space with its capacity growing every week.
