Áed Oirdnide or Áed mac Néill (died 819, the epithet Oirdnide means ordained, referring to anointing as king) was King of Ailech. A member of the Cenél nEógain, he was the son of Niall Frossach. The Annals of Ulster say that Áed freed the clergy of Ireland from military obligations.
He is included in the lists as High King of Ireland from 793 to 817. He was preceded as High King by Donnchad Midi (766-792) and was succeeded by Conchobar mac Donnchada (818-831).
Áed's son Niall Caille was later king of Ailech.
