Welcome! |
Welcome to my user page. Leave me a message if you'd like (I typically respond on my own talkpage, unless you'd like me to reply elsewhere). I am administrator on the English Wikipedia, and I also am the lead developer for Veropedia. I have removed my OTRS access, and my bot flag, I wish to get back to editing, and keep it simple. If you came for any of those things, I hope you find help elsewhere. Thanks. |

[edit] Dubious image deletion
Why was this image deleted when it was simply a crop of this image which is public domain? I'm pretty sure I wrote that on the description page, but if not, can it be restored? Asdfasdf1231234 (talk) 20:51, 14 May 2008 (UTC)
- Excuse me, but are you ever going to reply to this? Asdfasdf1231234 (talk) 17:09, 23 May 2008 (UTC)
- Restored it awhile ago. Sorry. ^demon[omg plz] 17:11, 23 May 2008 (UTC)
- Oh, sorry. I just assumed because you didn't reply and it didn't reappear on the article page it hadnt been. Thanks, Asdfasdf1231234 (talk) 17:14, 23 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Is this right?!?
Am I reading this correctly? If I am.. this is one of the most worrying things I've ever seen any admin say. I've concluded lately that those supporting Betacommand regardless of circumstances are actually a bigger part of the problem than BC himself. Beta is (I assume) a kid who doesn't know any better. His behavior continues to be so unreasonable that I can only assume he keeps it up because he has some crowd of supporters somewhere, cheering him on. I blame this crowd of supporters for the huge role they play in this problem. They need to stop. You are declaring yourself one of them, even to the point of intending to unblock him regardless of circumstances?!? Beta has been a continuous problem for way too long, and if it weren't for people unblocking him, this problem could, just maybe, have been solved long ago. This declaration of intent to interfere with anyone attempting to solve this problem just baffles me. Am I missing something? Friday (talk) 15:06, 20 May 2008 (UTC)
- I feel that the good he does greatly outweighs the bad. Playing nice all the time gets old, and I'd rather someone tell me to fuck off than sit there and pretend to like me. ^demon[omg plz] 15:09, 20 May 2008 (UTC)
- Friday please remember what happens when you AssUMe. Im probably older than you. I have found the best method for working is to make myself perfectly clear. Hand holding and codling are very ineffective in most cases. Being frank and making my point clearly is more effective than not. people clearly stating the facts and calling spades spades results 98% of the time in clearer communication. βcommand 2 15:23, 20 May 2008 (UTC)

- You really do? Man, I just don't see it. Of course, I know Beta only from what he does on the Wiki. Do you know him from somewhere else? I'm no fan of simpering insincerity masquerading as civility either, but being "nice" is not my problem with Beta. You simply cannot collaborate with him- his communication skills are terrible. This is a collaborative project, and he's fundamentally incapable of collaborating. He does unreasonable things way too frequently and no amount of people saying "please cut that out" has had any effect. Editors are like bees- a single one is (usually) fairly insignificant. Where you see good work, I see him poisoning the hive. What is it that he does that you consider so useful? What would it take to get you to step back from the situation and stop promising to interfere? Friday (talk) 15:16, 20 May 2008 (UTC)
- Friday have you ever nicely approached me with a request for assistance? a always seem to see hostility from you. βcommand 2 15:27, 20 May 2008 (UTC)
- I presented evidence on this long ago- see Wikipedia:Requests_for_arbitration/Betacommand/Evidence#Evidence_presented_by_Friday. Since then, I've mostly given up trying to talk to you. I see that others have sometimes tried, and I don't see that they get any different results than I got. I don't have specific earlier examples handy, but the reason I gave the evidence I did was that by that time, I recognized this as a recurring problem, rather than just an isolated incident. Friday (talk) 15:31, 20 May 2008 (UTC)

- I regularly help a large number of users, User talk:Betacommand/20080501#POV search is one example. βcommand 2 15:40, 20 May 2008 (UTC)
- Just looked at the diffs you mention. I do not see a failure to communicate. I see several questions asked, and perfectly legitimate answers. If you don't find his answers (or anyone's) to your questions good enough, well then that's your own problem. ^demon[omg plz] 15:36, 20 May 2008 (UTC)
- or ask for clarifacion. βcommand 2 15:43, 20 May 2008 (UTC)

a while ago you deleted Image:Honor_deo.jpg

[edit] Image deletion: Empower plug
Hi, today you deleted Image:Empower plug.jpg on the basis of a lack of licensing information. I took and uploaded that image. I wish that you had left me a message at the beginning of the seven days, but what's done is done. I would like to reupload the image, this time with the appropriate licensing info. Do you object? Also, as an admin, can you look into the history of the Empower page and tell me what happened to it? I would prefer if you replied on my talk page. Thank you!
