[edit] Summary
When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labelled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:
The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.
When you leave the edit summary blank, some of your edits could be mistaken for vandalism and may be reverted, so please always briefly summarize your edits, especially when you are making subtle but important changes, like changing dates or numbers. Thank you. JoaoRicardotalk 00:34, 25 December 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Lovcenac
Hi - Thanks for adding the link to the news article - it's not often that Lovcenac is in the news. Could you just add a little bit in English as to what it's about - from what I understand it's about an ethnic Montenegrin women from Lovcenac, but my (let's call it) Yugoslavian's pretty limited. Also, do you know anything about the Montegrins' desire to build a Montenegrin Orthodox Church? See [1]. Thanks Adam Mathias 04:51, 5 February 2006 (UTC) No Comment!!!Boris from Lovcenac.

[edit] Request for edit summary
Hi. I am a bot, and I am writing to you with a request. I would like to ask you, if possible, to use edit summaries a bit more often when you contribute. The reason an edit summary is important is because it allows your fellow contributors to understand what you changed; you can think of it as the "Subject:" line in an email. For your information, your current edit summary usage is 8% for major edits and 58% for minor edits. (Based on the last 150 major and 12 minor edits outside the Wikipedia, User, Image, and all Talk namespaces.)
This is just a suggestion, and I hope that I did not appear inpolite. You do not need to reply to this message, but if you would like to give me feedback, you can do so at the feedback page. Thank you, and happy edits, Mathbot 03:35, 16 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Categorization
Hi Zvonko, I noticed you added Category:Serbian writers to Aleksa Šantić, who was already categorized into Category:Serbian poets. Please see WP:Categorization#Guidelines, esp. no. 3. In other words, don't duplicate categorization in both a category and a subcategory. When in doubt, place the entry in a "higher-level" category, but don't duplicate. Since Šantić was primarily a poet, he should go only to "poets" category.
Now, I admit the Category:Serbian writers is in disorder, but please don't add to the confusion :-). Also, as above, please use some more edit summaries – a mere "cat" would have pointed me that you changed a category rather than external links as indicated. See Wikipedia:Edit summary legend.
Regards & keep up on good work, Duja 14:00, 20 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Nsa convention img 9201.jpg)
|
Thanks for uploading Image:Nsa convention img 9201.jpg. I assume this image could be used under a fair use license. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If your image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why your image was deleted. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Dethomas 22:58, 25 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Image Tagging Image:039100717.jpg
|
Thanks for uploading Image:039100717.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{GFDL-self}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Thue | talk 11:05, 28 February 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading Image:Cane29.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then there needs to be an argument why we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then it needs to be specified where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. [edit] User:Afrika paprika and Dado Prso
Please do not use {test} templates in cases like this where what the user is doing is clearly not Vandalism. While Afrika paprika is being disruptive and most likely violating policy, using a template like that does nothing to help the situation. The user is clearly not vandalising the article per the definition of vandalism, and should not be treated as a new user trying out editing in an improper way when it is rather obvious that he is trying to promote a particular POV. Please take the time to write a real warning, which takes into account the situation. --Philosophus T 11:03, 28 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image:State-of-EXIT1.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:State-of-EXIT1.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
- On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. [edit] Image:Ceca raznatovic 36.jpg
Ok, I'm listening.
As far as #1 of WP:FUC goes, I don't think a "free equivalent is available or could be created that would adequately give the same information" in the sense that I didn't see one or don't have one at my disposal.
- "I didn't see one or don't have one at my disposal".. this never implies that one couldn't be created. --Abu Badali 15:07, 26 November 2006 (UTC)
As for WP:FU#Counterexamples, it is fairly obvious that the purpose of putting this image isn't merely showing "what this person looks like". The entire turbofolk genre has a very pronounced visual component and this image showing the early look of turbofolk adds a lot to the quality and comprehension of the entire article.Zvonko 04:08, 25 November 2006 (UTC)
- This makes sense. This image seems ok to be used in the Turbo-folk article, but not in Ceca. --Abu Badali 15:07, 26 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Source
So, what should be placed as a source? And while, you're at it why were the other two images taken down in the middle of discussion? The source info may have been removed in the fair use discussion but there was no warning message or anything. Seeing that the source for this image has been listed by you as "missing", am I going to find it suddenly taken down too. Zvonko 01:30, 28 November 2006 (UTC)
- As I explained in the edit summary, use the newspaper name and publication date. But if the newspaper is not this image's copyright holder, it must contain information on who is. But in this case, the tag is wrong and must be changed. --Abu Badali 01:53, 28 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Aug29 2004.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:Aug29 2004.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. [edit] Kodeksi
I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article Kodeksi, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree with the notice, discuss the issues at its talk page. Removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, but the article may still be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached, or if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria. thadius856talk|airports|neutrality 04:08, 6 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] About Otpor, and the country's involvement
I know what you're saying, and you're not wrong. Montenegro under the DPS was not very active in the FR Yugoslavia; they were concentrating on building their own walls and finding their way alone. The actions were within Serbia and remain a Serbian phenomenon. The problem is that ever since the creating of the FRY, the national name of the country until its final day in SCG was Serbia half the time and the national name for the other half. When I attended the Anti-NATO protest in March 1999 in London, the thousands of locals were chanting "Sr-bi-ja...Sr-bi-ja", then a few minutes later; you'd hear "Ju - Go - Slavija, Ju - Go - Slavija". Clearly people were confused and could not distinguish that the two entities were in direct conflict with each other, where-by at a national level, you can be one, or the other. Be that as it may, that's how it was. Now my purpose for adding terms such as "the federation", "Yugoslav", "the national" etc. on this page as with all others: the basis for the popular dissidency was dissatisfaction with administration from the highest level. Millions felt that the key to a good future is a good relationship with the western states, and only the central government stood between the citizens and the rest of the western world. And ultimately, it was the Yugoslav presidency which was ousted, and legally, it did have powers over Montenegro, and Montenegrins in turn were elligible to contribute to running the republic whether these privileges were taken or not. I think it would be a good idea if one of us revise the page from top to bottom and restore Serbia in about half of the slots (in a way that people know); or introduce a new section explaining what we both know (this as I have written it). I just feel that to continue using "Serb, Serb, Serb" is sloppy and unofficial. Do you see what I'm suggesting? Evlekis 07:54, 11 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Božidar (Boki) Milošević
Zvonko, I think that we should use full names of the persons we are writing about. For example, Milenko Stefanović, also a clarinetist, is better known as Mima Stefanović; however, article about him has been entitled Milenko Stefanović. I suggest to give this article its previous name - Božidar Milošević. --Andrija 13:21, 15 March 2007 (UTC)
