You blanked the page, removing all content, here. This action, when done by a page's creator and primary editor, is considered to be a request to have the page deleted. The policy behind this can be seen here, in the seventh criteria. These cases, where the author blanks a page he/she has just created, are generally the case of someone creating a page, and then realizing that they do not actually want the page to remain. But they do not know the proper way to get it removed, so they blank it. So, we take the very blanking action as the request for deletion. Further consultation with the author is not needed. And in the very, very rare cases like yours where deletion was not the author's intention, a note to the deleting admin is generally enough to get the page restored.
