[edit] UK 350Z Owner
Hello Zunaid, I am an owner of the 350Z in the UK, and have again added the link to the UK site in the wikipedia. This has been removed twice in the past, but please allow me to explain why I put it there. First of all the site is NON commercial, it does not ask for or make money from its users, its is free to view and free to register (unlike other uk 350Z sites there is no "paying" members section). The site has been mentioned twice in UK motor magazines EVO and Max Power as a free resource of information. The site contains information and guides written by owners for the use of other owners or any other interested party for free. Before removing this again, please would you take the time to visit the site and read the wealth of information that it has to offer on the 350Z. Many Thanks, Chris. 13.25 (GMT), 11 December 2006 —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 212.50.178.217 (talk) 13:26, 11 December 2006 (UTC).

[edit] User:Musketeerrecords
'lo there Zunaid, thanks for your message , very vigilant. The Musketeer Records page was just created to link to Seether's page and is no way meant to be promotional, If you feel it is, than appologies. I copied the layout from another Label and tried to make it in the 3rd person. musketeerrecords 17.02, 18 October 2006

Ahoy Zunaid, thanks for the welcome message and for your input on whether the link to my website was applicable to the South Africa page. Your Wikiwisdom was much appreciated! Fellla1 13:19, 18 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Table Mountain
I agree that Wikipedia is not Wikitravel, but I think the hiking info that you removed from the Table Mountainpage is salvagable as a separate article such as Hiking on Table Mountain or similiar. I'm biased, because I wrote most of it, but I think it can be written in an encyclopedic style, with history section, etc, if you are unhappy with the focus as it stands. I also think that Table Mountain Cableway deserves its own article. Although the page you merged from was fairly short, it could be expanded with technical info, specific history, etc. These details don't really belong on the main TM page, so I don't think the merge was the right way to go. I'm about to go offline for a while, so I can't get involved in a big rewrite. Any comments? Regards, Zaian 13:37, 20 July 2006 (UTC)
- PS, I will definitely say that I think your edits are an improvement to the article, and I don't want to be seen as overly critical or defensive of my own work; I agree that it read like a travel guide and needed to be rewritten! I'm just thinking some material can be salvaged. Zaian 13:41, 20 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Honda S2000 arbitration
I've requested arbitration. Please add your comments to the request at Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration#Honda S2000. Thanks. — AKADriver ☎ 14:43, 30 August 2006 (UTC)
Hello,
An Arbitration case involving you has been opened: Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/Honda S2000. Please add evidence to the evidence sub-page, Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/Honda S2000/Evidence. You may also contribute to the case on the workshop sub-page, Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/Honda S2000/Workshop.
On behalf of the Arbitration Committee, FloNight 10:40, 9 September 2006 (UTC)
- I added your suggested Temporary injunction to Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/Honda S2000/Workshop. You can make a short comment in support. Place comment under parties. FloNight 10:36, 12 September 2006 (UTC)
- Regarding your evidence section- the Arb Com is much more likely to pay attention to it if you give specific difs backing up each of your points. JoshuaZ 23:19, 12 September 2006 (UTC)
-
- AFAICS I have provided diffs where necessary. The only sections where I haven't are "Refusal to accept consensus" (entire Talk page), "Constant reversion" (page history), and "History of edit-warring" (user Talk and block log). Please let me know if there's any specific argument you think I haven't backed up with good evidence, I'd hate to have the outcome potentially changed because the evidence was not presented properly. Thanks! Zunaid 08:36, 13 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Casablanca quotes
I think, because of the first input, that there's a misunderstanding here. I'm not trying to add specifically Casablanca quotes. I'm trying to write about a number of quotes from a movies/TV that I think deserve their own articles. Two are from Casablanca. One from Love Story. Another is a Mel Brooks routine. I didn't think that was such a novel idea either, considering that a good number of other film/TV lines have their own articles: D'oh, Stinking badges, Who's on First?, etc. But I got your point about not adding information a bit at a time. I'll stop doing that then. Thanks. Haonhien 15:40, 18 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Crime Expo South Africa
An anon editor (possible a sockpuppet) is reverting your good changes from the article. --Guinnog 21:59, 18 September 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks. Have reverted and will keep monitoring. p.s. I see you have no desire to visit again....I hope you'd want to visit sometime though. Zunaid 10:22, 19 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] BMW E90
Hi Zunaid, looking forward to your contributions to the above. I flagged it for clean-up in August (I think!) but there have been no takers. Please could you add some comments to Wikipedia:Cleanup Taskforce/BMW E90 this may help to get some more editors on board. Regards. Escaper7 15:21, 11 October 2006 (UTC) ps: apologies if I've ruined your system by adding this in the wrong place.
- No prob ;) I've fixed it. p.s. I'm quite the rewrite fanatic as you can see from my user page. Hopefully I will have the energy to track down references and things, it's hard work. Okay, I have an idea: let's sketch out an outline of the new article (section headings and such like), and then post links to references on the article talk page. That way we divide the work and anyone who wants to jump in can assist. Zunaid 15:44, 11 October 2006 (UTC)
- I'm not quite sure your recent edits were all that helpful to the article. Compare it to BMW E46, which provides a great deal of information while still managing to be encyclopedic and concise (with the exception of the ZHP section, which could be cut down significantly). I appreciate the effort to clean up the page, but I think it lost quite a great deal of information in the process. Fuscob 01:31, 17 November 2006 (UTC)
- I was in a bit of a rush when I did the edit, and didn't have time to rewrite the sections I removed. Unfortunately I don't seem to have much free time these days. As I suggested in my edit summary, the deleted info should be re-added in a trimmed down and concise form. If I get the time, I will do it, but I'm hoping someone else will jump in at this stage. [edit] Image:1986 Nissan 300ZX.jpg
Hi Zunaid. Thank you for your contribution to the debate at Talk:Nissan_300ZX#Image:1986_Nissan_300ZX.jpg. I have noted your suggestions. I am fortunate in living on the Gold Coast, Queensland in that there are many suitable locations. I would be pleased if you would assist me in producing a better photograph. I have a number of other images from that shoot. Would it be sufficient to Photoshop the image or produce a new one? --WikiCats 06:41, 12 October 2006 (UTC)
- Hi.
I think it would be sufficient to photoshop it,although perhaps a pic from a slightly higher angle would show the car off better. Actually, photoshopping might leave it looking a bit odd (shadows etc.). Is there any issue with the stock image? The more I think about it, the more I lean towards keeping it. Unless you actually took photos of the car in a studio (or are a whizkid with photoshop, which I'm not), you'd be hard-pressed to produce the same effect. Zunaid 07:30, 12 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] POV removal on South Africa article
The British monarchy has not apologised for using concentration camps in South Africa - if they have, please provide me with a reference. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by SparrowsWing (talk • contribs) 21:08, 25 October 2006.
- The point is that the addition of this information is strongly POV and comes across as if the article itself wants to condemn the UK for it. If you can provide a reference that their non-apology is noteworthy, e.g. a newspaper article that discusses the fact that no apology has been made, then the fact that it was covered in a newspaper can be put into the article. Wikipedia articles should at all times be written to reflect neutrally on the subjects it presents. p.s. please sign your posts by typing four tildes like so: ~~~~. It will expand into your username and date like so: Zunaid (T•C) Please rate me at Editor Review! 10:06, 26 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] wikEd
Hi, I have seen that you are using the Cacycle editor extension. This program is no longer actively maintained in favor of its much more powerful successor wikEd.
wikEd has all the functionality of the old editor plus:• syntax highlighting • nifty image buttons • morefixing buttons • paste formatted text from Word or web pages• convert the formatted text into wikicode • adjustthe font size • and much, much more.
Switching to wikEd is easy, check the detailed installation description on its project homepage. Usually it is as simple as changing every occurrence of editor.js into wikEd.js on your User:YourUsername/monobook.js page.

[edit] Trolling on SA articles
Ok, agreed. --Guinnog 13:48, 13 November 2006 (UTC)
- Aw, you're ruining our fun! Seriously though, I see your point and I will do my best to resist the urge to beat down trolls with the logic stick in future. While initially amusing, it does tend to get old fairly quickly and wastes time better spent on more worthy tasks. Besides, I think we've explained ourselves quite sufficiently with regards to the CE troll and no more needs to be said. — Impi 17:01, 13 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] AfD DEBATE
[edit] Redirects to South African farm attacks
Hi Zunaid - any reason you used {{prod}} on the Boer Murder page rather than {{rfd}} (see wp:rfd)? If not I'll go ahead and change it, and list it in the wp:rfd page. Its funny, I was about to list it (and others) and you beat me to it. Please email me in reply if you don't mind, or else leave a message on my talk page. Cheers, Jason Lionchow - Talk 13:42, 9 October 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks for doing all the {{rfd}}ing. Cheers, Jason Lionchow - Talk 15:05, 11 October 2006 (UTC)
- No prob. The prod was actually removed by an admin who said that the blanket nomination was incorrect. He suggested that I take them to RfD, and that I should put the notice on every page. Hey, whatever keeps the 'pedia NPOV ;) p.s. if you're interested, could you please take a look at Sharpeville massacre. It is currently not well referenced and seems to make inferential claims which can be construed as original research. I've tagged it appropriately but will need other's input as well. Plus which, that article title is just as POV as anything. Zunaid 15:44, 11 October 2006 (UTC)
- Happy to take a look at it, although my knowledge of SA history is not as broad or deep as my knowledge around sociology. I've only lived in SA for 4 years (getting my MPhil at UCT). While we are pointing out pages, can you keep an eye on 2010 FIFA World Cup? It seems our local collection of afro-pessimists have begun to gather there. While I am not one to hide the fact that SA has some serious work to do to ready itself for the event, others take this too far, into simple denigration of the country, and off-topic rants on SA in general. Unfortunately, I have a feeling this will continue for 4 years (ugh). Good work on the Crime Expo page btw. Cheers, Jason Lionchow - Talk 08:53, 12 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] The 4400 AfD
Although I agree that it is absolutely not just a vote count, I think that in citcumstances where there is an overwhelming majority, this defines consensus. As the closing admin I try to look for the opinion of the community, not which arguments I personally think are strongest except in rare circumstances. Hope that answers your question :) —Xyrael / 21:40, 30 October 2006 (UTC)
- No, I don't think deletion review would be appropriate because this process deals with undeletion rather than redeletion, so to speak. The best thing to do is probably to wait a few months and then nominate the article again. —Xyrael / 18:02, 31 October 2006 (UTC)
-
- Er, jumping in here. If a serious process error occured DR can reopen an AfD. JoshuaZ 18:05, 31 October 2006 (UTC)

- Well I think a strong case can be made arguing that the close was improper. How would I go about doing this? Zunaid©Please rate me at Editor Review! 10:31, 1 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Adelaide Crows 1998 Squad
I've deleted the nominated article, but couldn't see there was consensus to delete the articles you added later (and additionally you didn't tag them, so there would be no warning for anybody interested unless they were looking at the AFD logs). If you'd like to nominate them please start a new AFD. Cheers, Yomanganitalk 16:01, 9 November 2006 (UTC)

Sorry, nothing personal but according to Wikipedia guildines (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Deletion_process#Non-administrators_closing_discussions), you are not allowed to close that debate. See my final comment on the bottom of the page. Assuming you agree, please reopen it and halt any requests for an admin to delete it.Darkcraft 13:29, 5 January 2007 (UTC)
- Or another idea (don't take this as any form of threat, I just want to make things easier) I could take it to deletion review if you wish.Darkcraft 13:33, 5 January 2007 (UTC)

- Sorry I think I may be getting confused, I assumed you were closing the debate. It was a bit late at night when I assumed that, sorry.Darkcraft 00:31, 6 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Style points
Parallel minds over at the dead cop AfD... I like your style. I once got accused of violating WP:POINT for inviting someone to nominate another article for deletion they had used in a comparison while trying to get across that articles have to be judged on their own merits. A more general comment, such as "You are more than welcome to nominate for deletion any article which you feel does not meet the standards required by Wikipedia" is pretty untouchable. I see you've asked for an ed review, I'll take a look. Deizio talk 13:08, 20 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Proposed Wikipedia talk:Notability (news)
In the discussion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Murder of Tom ap Rhys Pryce in which you participated, some editors suggested the need for a guideline where a consensus could be reached regarding whether everything which is newsworthy is also encyclopedic. I have created a draft of a proposed guideline Wikipedia talk:Notability (news). Your input is welcome. Thanks. ((P.S.) I see that you have already contributed to the guideline, but I want to make sure to contact everyone who posted remarks at the subject AFD to avoid any hint of spamming or selectively stacking the deck for the guideline.)
