The suspension package comes standard on the Xtreme models, but was also available as a separate package. The package included a lowered ride height of 1.5", thicker front sway bar (33mm), rear sway bar (23mm), quicker ratio (12:1) steering box, and a frame brace.

The lowering was achieved with shorter softer springs in the front, and the standard S-10 leaf-spring pack in the rear with one leaf removed. This causes a very soft spring rate and the trucks commonly hit the overload spring in the rear and/or front bump-stops.

Wheels and tires were also upgraded to 16" x 8" with 235/55/16 tires. The style of the wheel was determined if the vehicle had the Xtreme package or not.
