[edit] Biography

At very early age he started to draw with a strong support of his parents. His father, architect by profession, gave him starting knowledge needed for his successful artistic career. Young Zoran influenced by works of Walt Disney, already made his first short comic at age seven.

After finished formal schooling, he continued, mostly because of his parents will, to educate at Academy of Arts in Novi Sad, where he also graduated. There he met again his childhood friend Mitar Subotić Suba alias Rex Ilusivii, who was then already known musician and producer. Together they explored visual-art and music. Janjetov was in the early 1980s lead singer and composer of several songs in the LP of his band Heroina and also singer on some other LP tracks of his musician friends. His music was influenced by bands and musicians such as: Sparks, Visage, Bauhaus, Associates, Laurie Anderson, Peter Gabriel, ...etc. In these years he performed as singer and performer in many concerts and TV shows. He directed several awarded music videos and designed numerous award winning LP covers of different music bands and performers. His strong music, movie and sci-fi involvement is present in his early comic, today already cult, Bernard Panasonic.

[edit] Style

Zoran Janjetov is unique in his powerful transforming style. Even he don't care for his graphics style, we can see his influence on many leading artists from Hollywood at present. Jean Giraud - Moebius who is considered the best comics artist ever by many comics fans around the globe (including Janjetov, of course :), chose Janjetov because of his "wrong style of genius", as Moebius said. Janjetov is as confortable when using Rockwell's or Frazetta's painting style as well when designing as Brody or Carson, on example.
