Zoltán Dani
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Colonel Zoltán Dani (Serbian: Золтан Дани) was the ethnic Hungarian commander of a Serbian anti-aircraft battery which shot down a United States Air Force F-117 Nighthawk stealth fighter on March 27, 1999, the only F-117 ever lost in combat.
The F-117 was shot down by a 1960's vintage Soviet SA-3 Goa missile system, which Dani stated had been modified to detect the Nighthawk.
Dani claimed that his battery also shot down an F-16 (even though NATO claims this aircraft was lost due to mechanical failure). USA Today says that Dani now owns a pastry shop in Skorenovac.
