[edit] Welcome

Welcome!

Hello, Zoe.r, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Again, welcome!  Private Butcher 21:56, 4 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] You

From what I read on your talk page you are a very interesting person to me, I'm not "in to" that kind of stuff, but you're just an intriguing person. If you care to I would like you to e-mail me, and just tell me about your life, if you don't want to that's fine. Private Butcher 22:04, 4 November 2005 (UTC)

Well, I read some of your LiveJournal thing, and some other things it links to. But can I atleast ask just some general questions, like an interview of sorts, because I've decided to do this with many different types of people. I wish to learn general things about them, how they are in person, act, feel, etc. Just things, if you would do this for me I would thank you, because I'm just trying to research humankind. [edit] Howdy

Hi, Zoe. Thanks for the message. I just thought I'd drop off a handy link to the list of stub types, if you want to consult it anytime. It's not such a big deal - there's often a stub-sorter around who knows the categories really well, so unsorted stubs don't tend to last more than a few hours. I was kind of surprised not to find a tag for {{wicca-stub}}, or at least {{pagan-stub}}. Anyway, welcome to Wikipedia. If you ever have any questions for someone who's been around here a while, feel free to drop by my talk page anytime.

Cheers! -GTBacchus 20:28, 5 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Minor edits

Hi Zoe, welcome again to WP! (Saw your note on the new user log.) It seems like you've got the hang of it pretty quickly. It took me months and months to have anything more than a couple of bare links on my userpage. :) Re: "stuff you'll probably not like, too"... I don't know if you've had a bad experience on WP, but in my experience most people here are pretty openminded. Don't forget Wikipedia:Assume good faith. :) Finally, I noticed that you're marking all your edits as "minor". This is not generally a good idea. From Wikipedia:Minor edit: When to use this is somewhat a matter of personal preference. The rule of thumb is that an edit of a page that is spelling corrections, formatting, and minor rearranging of text should be flagged as a "minor edit". Just something to keep in mind. cheers!

--pfctdayelise 01:13, 6 November 2005 (UTC)

No worries. I think if you go to Preferences > Editing, there is an option that says "Mark all edits minor by default." pfctdayelise 06:19, 7 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Weasel terms

"Weasel terms" are terms that make a statement and give no source (such as "People say..." or "It is thought...") See the Wikipedia style guideline for more info: Weasel terms. I think that should help you understand why I edited the article. The Jade Knight 04:28, 4 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Romana anchor

No problem - all part of the service. --khaosworks (talkcontribs) 00:47, 18 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Because

Because it makes the page look better and every other person with a discography like that has them going down. See ex. Hilary Duff Tcatron565 9:48 am c 2/11/06

Okay, I'll see your Hilary Duff and raise you Pink Floyd and The Who. :P

[edit] Removed userbox

I removed {{User furry}} from your Babel table because it has been moved to userspace. With this new location I wasn't able to include it in your Babel table. It can be found now here: {{User:Aeon1006/Userboxes/User furry}}. If you still want it on your page, copy and paste this code: {{User:Aeon1006/Userboxes/User furry}} --Bisco 23:21, 3 October 2006 (UTC)

I found a way and added the userbox with the location into your babel box again. --Bisco 01:11, 5 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] 3RR

Please refrain from undoing other people's edits repeatedly, as you are doing in Electronic voice phenomenon. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions in a content dispute within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. Rather than reverting, discuss disputed changes on the talk page. The revision you want is not going to be implemented by edit warring. Thank you. --ScienceApologist 20:41, 6 January 2007 (UTC)

There is no excuse for violating 3RR. If you do it, I will report you and you will be blocked. Thanks,--ScienceApologist 00:02, 7 January 2007 (UTC)
You're making threats again. You're violating the behaviour policy and you're trying to make it appear that I've violated policies while you're at it. Since I have not violated the three revert rule, you have no basis on which to make your accusations. Desist immediately. --Snowflake Sans Crainte 11:46, 7 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] EVP

Hi Zoe.r.....User:Martinph, User:Perfectblue, and I have negotiated an agreement on the following opening for the article. We hope to get your endorsement in order to form a consensus.

  • Electronic voice phenomena (EVP) is a term coined by Colin Smyth to describe speech or speech-like sounds of paranormal origin occurring on previously unused recording media. It was first reported by Raymond Bayless and popularized by Konstantin Raudive.[1][2][3] As with all paranormal phenomena, the existense of EVP is disputed. Some say that the sounds thought to be EVP are caused by psychokinesis or the voices of spirits, but others say they can be explained by such things as pareidolia or radio signals. [4]
  • According to researcher Alexander MacRae, EVP is defined as any anomalous voices captured on any form of audio recording[5][6] [2] that are discovered upon playback, but were not detected at the time that the recording was made, and which do not appear to originate from any local source.[3] EVP are typically brief, the length of a word or short phrase, though longer examples are also claimed.[7] They are normally in a language understood by those present at the time of recording.[2]

[edit] WikiProject Tyne and Wear

Hi there, I'm currently considering making a wikiproject called Wikipedia:WikiProject Tyne and Wear and I'm just wondering if you would be interested in joining if and when It's created as I noticed from a user category you live in County Durham. It would be all about improving and creating wikipedia articles relating to Tyne and Wear. If you have any questions, comments please tell me on my talk page and if you know any other users who maybe interested in joining please feel free to tell them as it will need a few members in order to make it run smoothly. I will also be willing to create the project page and templates etc if there are enough active members. Please leave your name here if you are interested. Could you also please tell me whether you are interested or not on my talk page - You can take as-long as you require to decide! Thanks. TellyaddictEditor review! 16:23, 5 February 2007 (UTC)
