Zod is an RPG which was originally programmed on a TI-83 calculator, today it has grown to the PC, and a downloadable version is available at zodgaming.zapto.org. The success of this small program inspired the creation of an online MMORPG version of the game. This text based game is currently under development. When completed, users will be completely dependent upon one another, needing each others skills to survive in the world of ZOD.

[edit] Overview

Once a player has entered the world of Zod, they are soon faced with a choice of how they shall make their living in this virtual world. The player may strike out as a craftsperson; creating the many items needed by the people of Zod to live, or crafting powerful weapons and armor suited for kings or queens. Or, the player could choose to become the most vital pillar in society, the humble farmer. Without the farmer, the society of Zod would collapse, as everyone needs food to restore their health and maintain their energy so they may go about their daily tasks. The most basic unit of society, the lowly peasant, even plays a major role in the universe of Zod. Peasants are in charge of keeping the towns safe. If the peasants dont meet their quota of monsters each day, farms and stores could be put in danger of being pillaged by the wild creatures of the area.Very dependent upon the Peasants for business and protection are the merchants of Zod. Merchants buy raw materials from the peasants, who find them while fighting monsters in the wilderness, as well as food and crafted goods from the farmers and craftspeople, and sell these items to the general populace.
