Zlicans
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Zličans were a Czech tribe that settled in the eastern fold of Bohemia. They were the second most powerful tribe in the region but eventually were overpowered by the Přemyslid dynasty on 28 September 995 when the ruling Slavník dynasty was massacred by the Přemyslid.
In addition to the Zličans, the Slavník dynasty ruled the Charvats and Doudlebs tribes, the ancient hamlet of Kouřim, and probably also the city of Swidnica.
[edit] Dukes and chiefs of Zličans:
- Radslav the Zličan, (early 10th century) who led a war against Saint Wenceslas
- Slavník (d. 981)
- Soběbor (late 10th century)
