[edit] NICO Club links
Hi. Because of widespread link-spamming, sites associated with NICO Club have been added to the spam blacklist -- see Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Spam/2007 Archive Jan#NICO Club links. That means you can't save any edits to a page with that link until you delete or "break" the blacklisted link.
I did not break or delete the links on your user page, but you will need to do this in the future if you want to make any changes to it. Here's an example:
- http:// www m45forum.com
- http:// www nicoclub.com

- Hi -- I noticed you blanked your user page -- I hope you didn't do it because of my note above. If so, I feel bad about that. My point was not that you were wrong to have those links -- just that the automatic blacklist feature of Wikipedia's MediaWiki software would block edits to the page until they were deleted or broken.
- There was nothing wrong with your user page and nobody was upset with your NICO club link -- lots of things are allowed on user pages that aren't suitable for the encyclopedia itself. It was clear that you weren't spamming.
- Some folks post lists of links they're using for article research. Others put up pictures of families or pets whatever. Unless you're deliberately spamming, attacking others or doing something abusive (like using Wikipedia's server as some sort of blog service or a free hosting service 300 1-Meg porn images), the attitide around here is that users have a lot of latitude with their pages. The rules are all in the User Page Guideline but 99.9% of Wikipedia's editors never read them (I haven't) and do just fine.
- Feel free to revert back to the earlier version of the page if you liked it (just break or deleted those two links or else the Wikipedia software will block saving the page). If you need any help with the technical stuff, just let me know.
- You are a valued editor on Wikipedia -- especially for all your work on Yugoslavia-related topics. I hope my note above last month did not send the wrong signal.
