Ziway

Ziway or Zway is a town in central Ethiopia. Located on the road connecting Addis Ababa to Nairobi in the Misraq Shewa Zone of the Oromia Region of Ethiopia, Ziway has a longitude and latitude of 7°56′N, 38°43′E.

Based on figures from the Central Statistical Agency in 2005, Ziway has an estimated total population of 35,931 of whom 19,034 were males and 16,897 were females.[1] According to the 1994 national census it had a population of 20,056 people. Ziway is the largest town in Adami Tullu and Jido Kombolcha woreda.

The economy of Ziway is based on fishing and horticulture. It is also home to a prison and a caustic soda factory.
