Zirconium hydride

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Zirconium Hydride (ZrH2) is a hydride of zirconium. The commercial form is usually a flammable, gray-black powder. It is used in powder metallurgy, and as a reducing agent, vacuum tube getter, and metal-foaming agent. It is also used as a neutron moderator in thermal-spectrum nuclear reactors such as the TRIGA research reactor developed by General Atomics.
