Zimmer Holdings Inc. NYSE: ZMH is worlds leader in orthopedic implants. It is headquartered in Warsaw, Indiana. Its products include knee, hip, shoulder and spinal implants along with fracture/trauma and orthopaedic surgical products. Zimmer was founded in 1927 by Justin O. Zimmer, a salesman for DePuy. It was acquired by Bristol-Myers Squibb in 1972. In 2001, Zimmer was spunoff from Bristol-Myers Squibb. In 2003, Zimmer acquired Centerpulse AG, a Swiss-based orthopedic manufacturer.

Zimmer Holdings are best known by speakers of British English for their walker, known as a Zimmer Frame, which was released in the 1950s [1].
