The word "Ziebel" means an innovative group of persons from many cultures (race, religion, sex, citizenship, nationality, etc.) working together, finding quick and efficient methods to solve problems or optimize traditional methods. When a good and efficient solution to a problem, or a better optimized result is obtained, it is referred to as a Ziebel. Examples: "We understood that we did not have the good performance that we knew had to be possible, so we did a ziebel.", or "Instead of waiting around for something to happen by itself, we did a ziebel".

Ziebel has been successful in further strengthening this expression to be increasingly used within the technology arena of the oil and gas producing business, not at least in conjunction with more advanced wellbore technologies. A member of a Ziebel team is a Ziebelian.
