Zhuang Yong (born August 10, 1972 in Shanghai) is a former freestyle swimmer from China, who's best performance was winning the gold medal in the 100 m freestyle at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, Spain. It meant China's first gold medal in swimming. Four years earlier in Seoul she won China's first ever Olympic medal in swimming, ending up second in the final of the Women's 100 m Freestyle, behind DDR's Kristin Otto.

Zhuang learned to swim as a kindergartener, and entered a local swimming school at age seven. Joined the Shanghai Team in 1984, she was chosen by the China National Swimming Team for intensified training two years later.
