Zhdanov (Russian: Жданов), or Zhdanova (feminine; Жданова) is a Russian last name and may refer to:
- Andrei Zhdanov (1896-1948), a Stalinist politician, developer of the Zhdanov Doctrine that governed Soviet cultural activities for a number of years
- Alexander Zhdanov (1858-?), a Russian astronomer
- Ivan Zhdanov (1846-1901), a Russian literary critic and student of folklore
- Leonid Zhdanov (1890-?), a Russian selectionist
- Lev Zhdanov (1864-?), a Russian novelist and playwright
- Victor Zhdanov (1914-?), a Russian virologist
- Vladimir Zhdanov (1902-1964), a Soviet army officer and Hero of the Soviet Union
- Yevgeny Zhdanov (1839-1892), a Russian land surveyor and cartographer
- Yuri Zhdanov (1919-?), a Russian chemist, rector of Rostov State University from 1957 to 1988. He is son of Andrei Zhdanov.
- Mariupol, a city in southern Ukraine, known as Zhdanov after Andrei Zhdanov from 1948 until 1989.
