Zhang Yining

Zhang Yining (张怡宁) is a Chinese table tennis player, born October 5, 1981 in the city of Beijing, China.

As of June 2005, she was ranked #1 in the ITTF rankings, in both women's singles and women's doubles.[1] She remains a dominant figure. However, though she is #1 in the world of Women's table tennis, she recently lost in the finals of the 2006 Women's World Cup to the #2 women's player, Guo Yan (China).

Zhang participated in the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens winning double gold in both singles and doubles with her partner Nan Wang (who won double gold at Sydney as well).
