[edit] That comment

Regarding that comment:

== Welcome ==
You must abide by our rules here at Wikipedia or you will be blocked and/or beheaded. Soopa hoops77

I seconded your comment on his talk page, he was a little inappropriate, esp. to a new user, and without an obvious sign that he was kidding.

But anyway, I came here just to welcome you to the WP:LE project! Hope to see you around SGGH 19:55, 7 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] It's all good

Some harmless fun got a bit out of hand when we tried to get each other blocked, but I think we should continue to be friends --Soopa hoops77 18:30, 8 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] WP:THOMAS tasks?

Greetings.

So you've 'not been assigned a task yet' for WP:THOMAS? Well, that doesn't surprise me, as that's not the way WP works. The usual thing is either for editors to flag things that need doing, and other editors get and do them (without being asked), or else you just find 'something that needs doing, and do it'.

In terms of WP:THOMAS, the majority of the work is done. But read the project page and the project talk page, and you'll probably find things to do. If you have knowledge of Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends, we need verifiable information about the places (Tidmouth, Ffarquhar, Dryaw, Maron, etc, etc) as they appear on the TV Series. (This information is already well covered for the books, so no further editing is needed there). The existing project members do not know about this, so that would be helpful. Expansion of the merchandise page would also be helpful, especially if you can seek out reliable references for the various ranges.

(BTW, normally I would respond to a question on my talk page, on my talk page. In this case it seemed more appropriate to respond here, as you may not have got the hang of watching other pages yet.)

I'm sorry that you find my comments 'patronising and unfriendly', neither description fits me at all. The first paragraph is factually correct, even if not worded in the best way for you -- I think it was a weak attempt at humour. Remember that it is nigh on impossible to accurately convey emotion through text-only communication (hence emoticons), and that one of the basic tenets of WP is to 'assume good faith'... (...which, having just re-read the page, I should also remember myself...)
EdJogg 16:56, 22 March 2007 (UTC)

I am so sorry... i completely misconveyed the emotion that was meant. No hard feelings mate!!

[edit] Thanks!

Hi, and thanks for the welcome. I haven't had a lot of time to start working on anything, but I hope you'll have good advice for me if I need it! Ocarina Cave Girl 21:29, 10 March 2007 (UTC)

Haha... upper class scientists, that made me laugh. I think your job is probably more glamorous than mine is... what all is involved in the world of comic books anyway?
Well, in my lab at least, it's not very much like what you'd see on CSI. We don't get to go out in the field much, with a few exceptions, and we aren't allowed to carry guns or interrogate suspects. Basically, the police do most of the investigative work and send us the evidence for chemical or biological testing. We have serology and DNA sections that test blood and other body fluids, a drug section that tests for controlled substances, a trace section that tests anything from glass to fire debris to gunshot residue, and sections for ballistics, questioned documents, and latent prints. Each of us specializes in one of the sections, and we do our testing and prepare reports to send back to the police officers. Finally, when the case goes to trial, we often have to go testify to what we found. To me, this is the most nerve-wracking part, because defense attorneys can come up with some pretty weird questions! Most of the time, we're just in our lab doing testing. I test trace evidence, so I have to use a lot of different types of scientific instruments. Sometimes it's as simple as putting some chemicals on a powder and looking for a color change, or piecing together fragments of broken things to see if they match up.

Anyway, I hope I answered some of your questions... if you want me to bore you with more detail, let me know! Ocarina Cave Girl 00:36, 13 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Let's move on

I agree we need to move this project onwards and upwards. But how? Vandalise other pages and advertise the project?! Inform our good friends of wikiproject Thomas? Create new accounts and sign them up? There are many ways. We need to research and come up with the most effective and hopefully legal ways!! :D Soopa hoops77 19:41, 23 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] My thanks to you

Thank you for the really nice Barnstar which I just saw on my page. That was really kind, and truly perked up my spirits. Would that all on Wiki were as nice as you are. Take care, Jeffpw 19:57, 24 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] I know you

I know you, you're my brother's Nerdy American Friend. I don't like you. You were very mean to me on MSN. I hate you and your help wouldn't be very good. You vandalise, so you are very bad. I only want help from kind and sensible people. Not you. relentless1234567

[edit] License tagging for Image:Evaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.JPG

Thanks for uploading Image:Evaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.JPG. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 19:07, 1 April 2007 (UTC)

So is the project actually up and running yet? Or is that just the provisional thing? Gran2 09:31, 3 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Notability of Daniel Reaney

A tag has been placed on Daniel Reaney, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is notable, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (below the existing db tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this.

Welcome to Wikipedia. Please do not remove speedy deletion tags from articles that you have created yourself. If you do not believe the article deserves to be deleted, then please place {{hangon}} on the page (please do not remove any existing speedy deletion tag) and make your case on the article's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the article. Thank you. -- Shadowlynk 09:51, 3 April 2007 (UTC)
