Zero Regio stands for a multilateral, integrated hydrogen-project. It is determined to develop a transport system based on hydrogen-driven fuel-cell cars in two European regions, in Italy and Germany.

In the context of the 6th Framework Programme of the European Commission, a hydrogen-infrastructure with fuelling-station and car-fleet is built in the Rhein-Main Region and Lombardy during the five years of the project. Members are different companies and institutions from four memberstates of the European Union.

The results and experiences in succession of the test stage will contribute to reach the objective of the European Commission of five percent hydrogen-driven automobiles across Europe by the year 2020.
