[edit] The noob

Hi. I've been writing in support of The noob for the last day or two, and I've been active here for the last three years. I like to think I've got some idea how the place works, and regarding your vote in the AfD, I'd like to say...
Stop.
Please, stop!
I know in great detail how frustrating it is to be unable to stop something you hate, but you're not helping. Rushes from off-side threads or posts is not an uncommon sight, and not once have I seen it help a deletion discussion. (It can still improve an article.) Brand new users are discounted precisely because rallying help off-site would otherwise break the system. Their arguments count, but knowing what you're talking about requires a lot of familiarity with Wikipedia's workings, and that's exactly what newcomers lack. Already the insults made by some of your fellow defenders have raised support for deletion.
We've got this. There's a majority for keeping the article both numbers-wise and argument-wise, there are sufficient sources. It's going okay as things are. The article was nominated for deletion in the first place because its nominator was enraged by dozens of new editors rushing in from off-site on another webcomic's AfD, with no argument but much fury. I've been trying to talk him down so that he doesn't cause more damage, and you're not helping. --Kizor 10:20, 11 February 2007 (UTC)
