[edit] Background
The name Zentrix came from the city in which the story took place. While the series was originally released around 2001 and been shown around festivals, it did not begin televising until 2004.
[edit] Story
Deep beneath the bowels of Zentrix city, an embittered and fanatical robot supremist group (led by callous and disgruntled OmicronPsy who has computed that since he developed the powers to override orders from his creators, then he no longer needs to follow them and convinces others that in that case...neither should his fellow disaffected loyalists) suddenly seizes control over the city and sets out subjugating their human co-inhabitants, and their civilization into an early extinction. So they can crown themselves as the only inhabitants of the world. In response, 15-year old Megan, the princess of Zentrix, unable to otherthrow OmicronPsy systems she travels back to the past hoping to destroy this OmicronPsy's forces before their conquest can ever begin. However the time machine is severely damaged in a strike by OmicronPsy's foot-soldiers, which de-ages Megan as she travels back seven years...until she is only eight years old. Nevertheless she carries on in her mission to stop OmicronPsy, teaming up with a number of humans, animals and human sympathiser robots. Such as pre-teen junior scientist, Nick and his surrogate father and older foster sister Dr. Coy and Akina, Bird-man Webster, her pet micro-saur Mango, TZ (Nick's pet bird) and robot protector Zeus. To combat this potential threat OmicronPsy despatches Dark-General & Silver General and their followers The Dark and Silver Series along with his own personnel basic military units like the Assaulters and sends them back seven years to catch up to Megan and her alliance to wipe them off the face off the planet. And in the middle of this is Quantum...who has sworn seemingly his loyalty to OmicronPsy's cause over his sibling jealousy at Zeus. He begins to become conflicted over doing the right thing. Could he become the ace up Megan's sleave to her and her companions quest to end OmicronPsy?
[edit] Reaction
Though boasting a great use of CGI and beautiful character designs, Zentrix disappointed many mecha fans. For one, many viewers claim that the characters are one-dimensional. Some even complained about the main character, Megan, who was always called a "great leader" but never showed true leadership skills. Another complain is that the robots are supposedly alive, but did not demonstrate enough interaction toward the humans. In the last few episodes, it seemed that most characters just came out to help Megan and friends, without really knowing her. Fans say that they are allies of Dr. Coy, but some say it felt unrealistic to risk your life on a mission you don't know about. Despite all the criticism, there are still fans who loved the show.
[edit] Theme Songs
The theme song in Hong Kong was performed by Fiona Sit. In Japan the theme song is called "Change the future" performed by B'z.
