Zengő

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Zengő (pronunced IPA: [ˈzɛŋɡøː]) is the highest mountain in Mecsek Mountains – its height is 682 metres. The peak is situated in the southeastern part of the range. On its top, along with a look-out tower, the ruins of a medieval castle are standing. The place can be reached most easily from Pécsvárad. Its name literally translates as "resonant".

There was a debate in Hungary about the peak: Hungarian civil organizations refused to enable to build a NATO radar on the summit.
