Zegota (band)

Zegota is an anarchist hardcore punk band originally from Greensboro, North Carolina, formed around 1996-1997. The name alludes to Żegota, or The Council to Aid the Jews, which saved the lives of many European Jews during the Holocaust. Currently based in Old Europe.

In between band activity, the drummer has spent time studying music in Africa and organizing an active and passionate Greensboro with GCAC. The bassist has been squatting in Amsterdam and assisting The Ex in its world wide conquest. The singer has been involved in organic agriculture in the USA, and the guitarist has been living in Sweden, where he is struggling to create autonomous zones with a group called Kulturkampanjen. His short book of memoirs, "Fire & Lightning in Greensboro, North Carolina", was published by Ivory Bell Press.
