Zebra Butterfly

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Zebra Butterfly is located in the St. Kitts rainforest of the Caribbean. They can be identified by their yellow and black zebra-like stripes on their wings. The Zebra butterfly is poisonous if ingested because their main food is the flower of the passion fruit that contains cyanide.

They are one of the few butterflies that congregate together on branches of the same tree or fly together in a small area. The reason for this is unknown.

Zebra butterflies have the very unusual lifespan of up to one and a half years.
