White Zimbabwean woman, 1984 - extract of an image published in the Sunday Times (a UK newspaper), 25 March 1984 and subsequently reproduced on various websites. Fair use claimed for the Mary Ellen Mark article on the following rationale :

(1) The use of the image is to stimulate creativity for the enrichment of the general public. It is for a nonprofit, educational purpose. The article is on the subject of white Zimbabweans and the subject of the image is a conspicuous white Zimbabwean

(2) The image is of a factual and nonfictional nature and it has previously been widely published and circulated

(3) The image is an extract from a larger collection that was all published together. The extract is being used for critical purposes

(4) This present use of the image has no impact on the image's marketability or sales value. It is an obsolete newspaper photograph.
