Zarcero
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Zarcero is a town north of Naranjo in northern Costa Rica. The town is particularly noted for a topiary garden outside its church, in which the shrubs are trimmed into the shapes of various animals.
The church has very nice paintings of the stations of the cross inside. Materials for the construction of the church are not what they seem. Columns are painted to look like marble, the exterior is siding and not brick as it appears.
Hiking trails, pure water creeks, friendly people, nice landscapes and natural attractions are all over the Zarcero area.
